Important Changes at
Rotech Laboratories Ltd

Dear friends, colleagues, and clients I am writing to let you know of some important and exciting changes happening at Rotech Laboratories Ltd.

As you will know, Rotech Laboratories Ltd is part of the Rubery Owen Group of Companies, a group which was founded more than a century ago and in its heyday in the 1960s became the largest privately owned engineering group in the UK. Its name has always been synonymous with quality and engineering, and today that reputation is maintained by Rotech Laboratories Ltd, which over the last 25 years has developed from being an in-house works laboratory to one of the UK’s leading independent UKAS accredited testing laboratories, providing metallurgical testing services to more than 500 companies spanning all sectors of British Industry.

I am now pleased to inform you that on 12th September 2006 the Rubery Owen Group acquired CS Laboratory Services Ltd., a small but well respected local laboratory, which will be transferred to the Rotech Laboratories site at Moxley on 1st.October 2006. This will further strengthen our position within the metallurgical testing industry as well as adding small batch specialist heat treatment of high nickel alloys and stainless steels to our range of services.

For my part, I have been privileged to head up and develop Rotech Laboratories over many years and to share in its success, but after almost fifty years in testing at R.O. this is an opportune time to wind down and take life a little easier. Therefore, at the end of this month I will be passing the reins to Richard Smith, former owner and MD of CS Laboratory Services Ltd. I have known Richard for many years and can assure you that he will spare no effort to ensure that Rotech Laboratories continues to provide a first class testing service. I will remain a Director of Rotech Laboratories Ltd., and intend to play an active role in an advisory and consultative capacity and to ensure the continuity and quality of service that we have always striven to provide.

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our clients for their custom and loyalty over the years, and the Staff of Rotech for their dedication and hard work without which our success could not have been achieved.
